Congratulations Merge Client Award Winners!
At Merge Live On-Demand last month, I had the distinct honor to announce the winners of the Second Annual Merge Client Awards. We're fortunate to have so many outstanding clients doing amazing things with our solutions. It makes choosing the nominees and winners very difficult. For those of you who missed the Executive Update presentation, I’d like to share a bit about the awards and winners.

Merge Visionary Awards

Given to clients who help us improve our products by bringing new ideas and business models to Merge. Our 2013 winners are:
  • AllegiantMD – a physician-owned practice in Tampa, FL that’s built a thriving practice by partnering with local hospitals and tertiary care facilities. Allegiant has improved their business by using a common worklist and doing workload balancing across radiologists. They've also achieved Meaningful Use Stage 1 attestation by taking advantage of the data warehousing capabilities in Merge RIS™.
  • Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago & Cadence Health – both are award winning facilities in the Chicago area and long-term Merge clients, Lurie with Merge Cardio™ and Merge Hemo™ and Cadence with Merge PACS™. More recently, Lurie and Cadence put a collaborative business arrangement and Merge iConnect™ technology in place so their facilities can share radiology images. With image sharing in place, they’ve been able to improve patient care by triaging emergency care patients in suburban facilities and also take advantage of the pediatric specialty capabilities of Lurie Children's.

Merge Performer Awards

Given to clients who help Merge on a regular basis with reference calls, testing of beta software and other day-to-day operational excellence activities. Our 2013 winners are:
  • Radiology Limited – practicing in the Tucson, AZ area for more than 80 years. They've been a partner to Merge for more than seven years and use Merge solutions across their business. In 2013, Rad Ltd. hosted two Merge User Group (MUG) meetings, beta tested our latest release of Merge PACS and signed on as a partner for our new iConnect Network offering.
  • Advocate Health Care and Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital – one the nation's top 10 health systems. A long-time Merge client since we first introduced our cardiology solutions, their ongoing insights and inputs are reflected in the solution that we offer today. In addition, the team at Advocate Good Shepherd is a steady and reliable partner in taking reference visits and calls for our cardiology solutions.

Merge MVP Award

Last, but definitely not least, is the Merge MVP Award given to our most valuable client. This year’s winner is:
  • Ascension Health – the nation's largest Catholic and non-profit health system. Numerous Ascension facilities use Merge PACS, Merge Cardio, and Merge Hemo in addition to being the largest user of iConnect Enterprise Archive, our #1 ranked vendor neutral archive (VNA) solution. Ascension has been a champion for adding policy-based deletion to iConnect and use this new technology to cap their storage requirements. Ascension has shared their best practices in many Merge forums and we're thrilled that Carol Joseph, RN at Ascension Health Information Services has been accepted to speak on this topic at RSNA 2013.

Additional nominees across the categories were Denver Health and Hospital Authority, Fletcher Allen Health Care, Huntington Memorial Hospital & Hill Group Radiology, Mori Bean & Brooks Radiology, Resurgens Orthopaedics, Shady Grove Radiology Consultants,  St. Cloud Hospital and Triad Radiology.

Congratulations to all of our winners and nominees. Thank you to every Merge client who continually works with and challenges us to improve our solutions to meet your changing requirements year in and year out!
