We’re less than three weeks away from Merge Live On-Demand 2013
and we’re getting lots of questions from our clients on how they can make the most of this year’s event.
Over the years, I’ve attended a lot of events both in-person and online. Based on what I’ve experienced, here are five ideas on how to make the most of the online format this year.
Register now. Sign up now to get all the announcements and information leading up to the conference. Like all big conferences, there may be a last-minute change or addition that would be helpful to know about especially with 45+ sessions on the agenda that cover our big portfolio of products.
Block your calendar. Sometimes I sign up for an online event with the intent of watching the recording when it’s available, but for those events that I really want to join live, I’ll block my calendar so I'm not tempted to double-book and try to multi-task my way through them both.
Invite others. Because Merge Live On-Demand is free and there’s no travel is involved, it’s a great opportunity for you or others in your organization who haven’t been able to attend in the past to join online. We want all of our clients to be able to actively participate in the roadmap discussions and we’re excited to include ophthalmology and clinical lab sessions in our agenda this year. So please forward the invite to all of your friends who are also Merge clients!
Fill out your conference profile. I encourage you to take a few minutes to add your information and a picture to your conference profile. As someone who uses Facebook, LinkedIn and other social platforms, I find it much easier to chat with people online when I’m looking at their picture and know a little about them. Make it personal, become social and you’ll make more connections during the event!
Watch as a group. If multiple people in your organization are attending, book a conference room or join together in the break room. I know we’ll have our conference rooms in Chicago booked all week. I do recommend though that everyone who listens in also registers and engages online, so you don’t lose out on valuable networking opportunities!
And last but not least, to answer the most frequent question of all, “yes, we will be recording all of our sessions” so clients can access them online after the event. This is perhaps the biggest advantage of going on-demand. Stay tuned to this blog, follow us on Twitter @MergeHealthcare
and watch for announcements to find out when sessions will be posted!
Thanks and I look forward to seeing everyone online next month!
