Healthcare transformation and the unlimited potential of health IT took center stage at this year’s annual Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) conference in Las Vegas, Nev, on March 5-9.
As the largest health IT conference in North America with more than 40,000 attendees and 1,300 exhibitors, HIMSS is a chance for leaders across healthcare to discuss and explore the future of health IT — where it’s going, what will change and how they can lead their organizations to success.
Since it debuted at HIMSS three years ago, IBM Watson Health has been a growing presence at the show. The booth — the largest on the conference floor — helped visitors explore our solutions through two busy theaters that hosted nearly 90 presentations and dozens of demo stations in areas such as life sciences, oncology, value-based care, government and imaging. The booth also hosted IBM Cloud, IBM Blockchain and IBM Security solutions, truly making it a “one-stop shop” for exploring healthcare solutions from across the entire IBM portfolio.
Watson Health focused largely on how its resources and technology can help healthcare organizations reduce costs, improve workflow and deliver quality care. Among the highlighted imaging solutions were:
- IBM Watson Imaging Patient Synopsis* (Work in Progress/Not Yet Commercially Available), an AI-powered solution that can search for relevant structured and unstructured information in a patient’s EHR data.
- iConnect© Enterprise Archive, our Best in KLAS vendor neutral archive (VNA) that can ingest, manage, store, view, share and exchange patient content and images from disparate PACS, specialties, service lines and sites.
- Two KLAS-recognized solutions for cardiology: Merge Cardio™, which provides a single, web-based, comprehensive view of a patient’s record from all cardiology modalities, and Merge Hemo™, which automates cath lab procedures.
If you were at HIMSS18, we hope you were able to visit the booth to learn more about Watson Health solutions. If we missed you, we’d still love to connect and hear about the health IT challenges you’re facing. Either way, let’s talk
*IBM Watson Imaging Patient Synopsis is a work in progress solution. It is not cleared or approved by the FDA for commercial availability.
