CEDARA SOFTWARE ANNOUNCES STRATEGIC RELATIONSHIP WITH INSITE ONE INC. TO PROVIDE ONLINE RADIOLOGY SERVICES
- Cedara to provide InSite One with new medical image viewing and archiving solution
- Solution to provide online support for InSite One’s 400+ customer sites
Toronto, ON, January 24, 2007 – Cedara Software, a Merge Healthcare company (Nasdaq: MRGE; TSX: MRG) and a leading independent developer of medical software technologies for the global healthcare market, today announced a new strategic relationship with InSite One Inc. to provide online radiology services. InSite One is a Storage Service Provider (SSP) that provides Internet-based DICOM (Digital Imaging and Communications in Medicine) compatible medical image archiving and retrieval services. Cedara will provide InSite One with a new web based viewing solution for exams stored on client’s archives to allow referring physicians access to results and reports. Known as InDex® Web, InSite One’s offering will be based on the Cedara I-Reach™ solution.
InSite One’s services are currently used in over 400 customer sites nationwide, accounting for archiving of over 940 million individual images. InSite One continues to service a substantial quantity of data from its customer base every day, amounting to approximately 2.5 terabytes of compressed data per data center per week.
"Over the course of our search for upgrading our InDex Web viewing solution, Cedara’s technology was found to offer a strong set of features that our clients are looking to offer their referring physician for reports and consultation," stated Jim Champagne, President and CEO of InSite One. "Our business relies on being able to provide fast, consistent and reliable image access. To do this, we need to accommodate a whole host of different connection speeds, network infrastructures and imaging demands. Cedara’s solutions are built with a robust architecture that addresses these needs, while offering an easy-to-use interface for different practitioners."
Cedara I-Reach is a web-based PACS solution that provides access to relevant information at the appropriate time, presented in the proper context, with clinically relevant tools to ensure patient outcomes are accurate and timely. For medical imaging centers and healthcare facilities, I-Reach provides online report and image viewing, security features that support HIPAA compliance, 3D rendering, a wide array of clinical tools, back-end storage and archiving. As an internet-deployable technology, I-Reach provides ultimate image and information access between different healthcare facilities.
"We are very please to be working with InSite One," said Loris Sartor, President of Cedara Software. "By combining InSite One’s experience in the onsite and offsite image archive and disaster recovery market with Cedara’s advanced technology, a broader range of services become available to the end user market. This relationship creates a significant new ASP solution for American healthcare providers."
