MERGE EFILM AND INSITEONE
PARTNER TO BRING DIGITAL IMAGING SOLUTIONS TO NAPLES
HEALTHCARE PROVIDERS
Efficient digital workflow and enhanced service to physicians
to be delivered by Merge eFilm's PACS, Teleradiology
and Web Distribution Software and InSiteOne's digital
medical archiving solution.
Milwaukee, WI, February 18, 2003- Merge eFilm (Nasdaq:
MRGE), a leading global medical image and information
management solutions provider, and InSiteOne, a leading
provider of integrated onsite and offsite archiving
solutions for digital medical images, today announced
they have partnered to create a filmless image and information
workflow environment for NCH Healthcare System and Naples
Diagnostic Imaging Centers (NDIC), Naples, Florida.
"This solution will allow our clinicians to access
imaging data and reports virtually and in real time,
and to read them wherever they are located," said
Dr. Raymond Montecalvo, radiologist at NCH Healthcare
System radiologist at NDIC. "This will greatly
enhance the level of service that we provide to our
referring physicians, which will enhance their ability
to better serve their patients.
"In addition to patient and referring physician
service improvement, cost reduction was another key
goal," said Dr. Montecalvo. "The cost of a
traditional film and paper-based radiology operation
was becoming excessive, in addition to the rising costs
of delivering film-based images by couriers to our hospitals
and imaging centers. This digital solution will assist
us in the overall cost reduction we have been seeking.
"We have been working towards this project for
over three years, and have considered several other
vendors in the process. Merge eFilm and InSiteOne clearly
showed us that with the flexibility of their solution,
they were the best fit, both now and in the future,"
explained Dr. Montecalvo.
"This successful venture demonstrates the flexibility
of our Fusion Server solution to meet specific customer
needs," said Rich Linden, President and CEO of
Merge eFilm. "In addition, it reflects the ease
of integration with leading edge long-term image storage
solutions. We are pleased that NCH Healthcare System
and NDIC have responded to our alternative approach
to image and information management."
"Merge eFilm has included our InDex archive
within its FUSION family of image management products,"
added InSiteOne president and CEO, David S. Cook, "and
this installation is further validation of the results
our mutual clients are realizing. We are delighted to
welcome NCH Healthcare into our growing family of clients."
