Meaningful Use is part of the
EHR incentive program, which is designed to stimulate the use of technology in healthcare. Funded by the HITECH Act, the program enables providers who adopt electronic health records and meet Meaningful Use requirements to earn reimbursements and avoid Medicare penalties.
All providers begin participating in the EHR Incentive Program by meeting the Stage 1 requirements for a 90-day period in their first year of meaningful use and a full year in their second year of Meaningful Use.
This section contains resources to help you understand the Stage 1 rules and gets tips from practices that have already gone through the attestation process. Click the tabs above for resources, webinars, case studies and other useful materials about Stage 1 Meaningful Use.
