Q: Do I have to update to 3.0 Gold or upgrade to Platinum?
A: No, it is not required to update or upgrade at this time. At some point in the future we may no longer support previous versions. Our support staff currently supports 1.9.X, 2.X and now, 3.0

Q: Updates to the software used to be free, is eFilm Workstation GOLD free for me to update?
A: Yes, a valid Annual License or an Unlimited Time License with a valid service and update contract (Contract is included in first year, after that it is $300 per workstation per year). To update your service and update contract for your current unlimited time license, click here . Please note that you will still need to ensure you have eFilm 2.1.2 currently installed to initiate the process to update to 3.0 . Not sure which version you have? Open eFilm, click Help, Select About and it will indicate which version you have.

Q: Can I update to eFilm Gold or Upgrade to Platinum from any previous version of eFilm?
A: No, you must have eFilm Workstation 2.1.2 installed in order to proceed with the move to either version of eFilm 3.0. To download eFilm Workstation 2.1.2 if you do not currently have it installed, click here

Q: Once I download and install, will 3.0 recognize my previous license?
A: Unfortunately, we have had to change our product ID's within the licensing function and as such, you will need to contact us to get a replacement key. You will find that we are able to respond to you more quickly if you were to go to www.efilmlicense.com or simply email us at efilm_sales@merge.com and we will provide you with a Gold Key if you simply want to go with the update or a trial for Platinum to check out the great new features in Platinum. After this 30 day period, we can issue you a new key that will bring you back to the gold level or you can purchase and upgrade to eFilm Platinum for the remainder of your annual license or for an unlimited time license.

Q: So what are the costs if I have a valid eFilm License?
If you have a valid annual license key or an unlimited time license key in its first year or if after year 1 has passed, have purchased an updated support and product update contract for $300, then there is NO CHARGE to update your software to eFilm Workstation 3.0 GOLD.

However, please see the pricing for eFilm Workstation 3.0 PLATINUM with the following 3 Scenarios for existing customers. These Scenarios are for existing licenses, new licenses must be purchased at the retail price for new PLATINUM licenses which is $1,350 for an annual license and $4,450 for an unlimited time license. If you purchase 2 or more unlimited time PLATINUM licenses, you save $650 per license. Discount automatically taken online

Q: So for the free trial, which version should I download?
A: In order to reduce the number of installations and uninstalls of the software, we recommend downloading platinum and trying the upgraded features for 30 days. Please contact us for this 30 day license key. If you just want to go to straight to the Gold Version as it is a workstation for simple study review or a dedicated CD burning workstation, then let us know and we will issue you a replacement GOLD license key to replace your existing key. Q: Is 3.0 Validated against MS Vista?
A: Unfortunately not at this time, MS Vista is planned to be supported in Version 3.1 which is planned, but not guaranteed, to be released later this year with a few other minor updates.
