eFilm Workstation 3.0 - Important Information

Site Licensing :

First of all, thank you for your interest in eFilm Workstation. Please contact us if you have additional questions.

Q: What is site licensing?
A: Site licensing allows you to purchase concurrent seat licenses of eFilm Workstation. Instead of purchasing eFilm Workstation for each workstation that it could possibly be needed, one would purchase a site license with X number of concurrent seats, which allow that X number of concurrent workstations to use eFilm Workstation at once.

Q: Can you provide an example?
A: Site A is considering using eFilm at 20 workstations for primary reading, review stations and CD/DVD burning activities. However, Site A administrator believes that not all 20 will be using eFilm Workstation at the same time and would prefer to go to unlimited time licensing. He/she estimates that a maximum of 12 users would be using eFilm Workstation at one time, but wants eFilm Workstation installed and available on all 20 workstations. The administrator would purchase a site license for 12 concurrent seats.

Q: Can I purchase an annual site license?
A: No, this is only available as an unlimited time license which includes support and product updates for one year. Support and product update contracts beyond year one are available for $300 per concurrent seat after year 1.

Q: Can I mix and match a site license with both gold and platinum versions of eFilm?
A: No, you must choose either Gold or Platinum that is part of the site license.

Q: What is the minimum number of concurrent seats I can purchase?
A: 5 concurrent seats is the minimum, there is technically no maximum number of concurrent seats that can be purchased.

Q: What is the pricing of site licensing?
A: Site licensing is $3100 per concurrent seat for eFilm Gold and $4450 per concurrent seat for eFilm Platinum. See the comparison of eFilm Gold versus Platinum for more information on which one is right for your organization.

Q: How does it work?
A: Install eFilm on a server and license it as a "server", once the order has been paid a license for X number of concurrent seats will be given. Install eFilm Workstation on as many client workstations as you need, and in the licensing mechanism select "client". The client workstations will need to be able to query the server for the license

Q: Any drawbacks?
A: Not as such, however it is recommended that each location have its own server license. If your network goes down or the server goes down, realize that your client workstations will not be able to start. If you are currently using eFilm when the server goes down, you will still be able to use eFilm. We have also the ability to issue you a secondary license to place on a second server for redundancy.
