Q. How does one determine the version and licensing of the software?
A. Open up eFilm Workstation, select "Help/Licensing" to see the license key information. To see the version number, go to "Help/About" . Then you can check to see if we have a record of the key being issued here.


Q. Why is Merge Healthcare doing this for eFilm Workstation?

A. It has come to our attention that there are instances of software licensing violations throughout the world. We believe that users of this software should ensure that they have the latest version of the software and are listed as customers in the event that we would need to contact them when new versions are available. This piracy also deprives paying customers the extra development and support resources that they would otherwise have in the continued improvement in the software and its support.


Q. Why is Merge offering an amnesty period before the SIIA membership goes into full effect?

A. We realize that there may be instances where eFilm was installed improperly and wanted to give our customers the chance to become current with licensing. This approach is unique across all industries and Merge Healthcare is the first organization in the medical imaging space to launch such a program.


Q. What if I do not have receipts for the software?

A. Please fill out the online form to see if we can quickly find your key for you and provide the purchase information automatically online. If they are not found, there is an online form to fill out that we will use to help find the purchases corresponding to your license keys. If we are not able to find the orders, the licenses submitted will be deemed invalid and will need to be paid for to be brought up to date by the end of the Amnesty program period. We will make all reasonable efforts to validate your purchases as a service to you, but the end responsiblity is on the customer to ensure that all software purchased is properly licensed and documented.


Q. How do I relicense any non-validated licenses?

A. Click here to be redirected to a page to purchase a license of eFilm Workstation which includes support and updates for the software. We offer a 1 year term and a 3 year term license.


Q. I purchased from a reseller/integrator, what do I do?

A. We should have a record of these purchases in our online license check form, if not, we will be able to research it further with our resellers..


Q. I have an older version of the software that was free, what should I do?

A. We strongly recommend that you update to the latest version of the software due to many improvements over the past 6 years and to ensure that the application works properly with the latest operating systems.


Q. I have an older unlimited time license (Version 1.8, 1.9, 2.X and recent 3.0) what should I do?

A. You can validate your keys online for peace of mind that they are in fact valid keys and associated with a software purchase with Merge or our resellers. You of course can still use the software in accordance with the end user license agreement, though it is recommended that you look at updating to version 2.1.2 or upgrading to 3.0 to get the latest features and any fixes.
